And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to
God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy
sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to
worship him. - Romans 12:1
re:charge and its goals (our mission & vision)

re:charge is made up of a group of like-minded individuals from local 2nd Generation Asian churches in the
Chicagoland area who believe that God provides refreshment and excitement when the churches gather
together in unity to praise and worship Him.

With help of the local church, the mission of re:charge is to become a unique next-generation Praise Night
with the vision of a refreshing experience that happens when churches network with one another in the name
of Jesus Christ. By bringing together the most passionate worshipers and gifted speakers, we hope to be a
resource for the local church by providing a retreat- or conference-like atmosphere - right here in Chicagoland!
Imagine what can happen when the churches partner together for this goal: people will be blessed through a
time of excellent and heartfelt praise; yet they will also be challenged to go back to their churches, workplaces,
schools, and homes to serve God with more passion (all of this without taking days off of work or school and
minus the travel and expenses!).

The mission of re:charge is to create a place of refreshment with the vision of seeing the weary finding
encouragement and inspiration to return to their home churches with a renewed sense of strength and
purpose.

re:charge aims to do this by setting the stage and creating an environment for God to work in. We have
O.N.E. mission:

Offering - creating an atmosphere of worship with the most gifted and anointed speakers, worship leaders,
musicians, and songwriters to help renew the joy, excitement, and passion of leaders by reminding them Who
they are truly serving.

Networking - connecting servants from different churches and helping generate fresh perspectives, new
ideas, and unique approaches to benefit both the individual and his or her local ministry.

Empowering - strengthening the soul of the servant and giving practical and implementable suggestions to
their ministry, which ultimately empowers not only the local church, but the global Church. By bringing in the
best that the 2nd Gen has to offer, we ultimately want to empower the 2nd Gen to give back to the Church at
large by developing leadership among all of those involved with re:charge.

re:charge has been shaped by certain Core Values:

Love for the Local Church - our intention is not to compete with the local church nor to become one
ourselves, but to become a partner and truly work alongside it.

Inspiration - we want challenge the 2nd Gen to a life fully lived for God: whether that means writing songs for
God, writing the next Purpose Driven Life, or however God will work to inspire!

Excellence - not wanting to simply create a regular event, we wanted to truly take the time to put on a quality
event. That's why re:charge is scheduled for 3 to 4 times a year: not too frequent, but not too infrequent.

Innovation - sure, we could just rehash the old school "praise nights"... but instead, we are choosing to break
from tradition and do something new and different in order to spur a creativity in others which can be brought
to the local church.

Relevance - Practicality and Application: we want to provide understandable and implementable tools to all
who come out to re:charge.

Young-At-Heart - anyone who can worship to energetic or passionate and heart-felt songs are welcome!
Short And Sweet - we want people to leave asking themselves this question: "That was IT? Man, I need some
more inspirational teaching and passionate praise - I can't wait until Sunday!"
guiding passages

"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead
with you to give your bodies to God
because of all he has done for you. Let
them be a living and holy sacrifice—the
kind he will find acceptable. This is truly
the way to worship him. Don’t copy the
behavior and customs of this world, but let
God transform you into a new person by
changing the way you think. Then you will
learn to know God’s will for you, which is
good and pleasing and perfect."
Romans 12:1-2 (New Living Translation)

"Even youths grow tired and weary, and
young men stumble and fall; but those
who hope in the LORD will renew their
strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:30-31 (New International
Version)

At this stage, re:charge is planned
as a single evening event running
2-3 times a year.
